Recently, our Jaguars Community came together at Lynnwood Bowl & Skate for a night filled with movement, laughter, and connection. It wasn’t just a chance to hang out. It was a powerful reminder of what makes our events more than just recreational outings.
For every kid who skated for the first time, and every parent who smiled while watching their child make a new friend, this evening captured the heart of our mission. At Jaguars, we are committed to providing youth with a place to grow, connect, and belong. Events like this help us do exactly that.
From the glow of the rink lights to the shared pizza and spontaneous dance-offs, this was a night to remember.
Learning to Skate and Learning to Support One Another
The event began with the usual mix of excitement and nerves. Some kids arrived eager to show off their skating skills, while others cautiously stepped onto the floor for the very first time. But within minutes, the vibe shifted. Encouragement came from every direction. Volunteers helped new skaters find their balance, and returning Jags shouted out praise to friends as they found their rhythm.
One young participant named Marcus had never been skating before. After his third fall, he looked up, laughed, and said, “I think I just made a new friend while landing on my face.”
That single comment says a lot about what we’re building. It isn’t about being perfect. It’s about being there for one another, trying new things, and knowing someone will help you back up.
Pizza, Icees, and Brain Freezes That Brought People Together

After some solid time on wheels, we gathered to refuel. Plates of hot pizza disappeared quickly, followed by rounds of Icees in every color imaginable. Kids swapped stories about their wipeouts, favorite games, and who had the best tricks on the rink.
During the meal, we watched friendships form in real-time. Children who had arrived as strangers were already making plans to hang out at the next event. Parents chatted with volunteers, exchanged contact information, and shared gratitude for the welcoming environment.
We even heard one parent say, “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I’ve never seen my daughter smile like that in weeks.” For us, moments like that show we’re on the right path.
This Is Not Just About Events. It’s About a Movement.

Some people may see events like this as “just for fun,” but we know they are much more than that. These gatherings are part of a broader purpose. Jaguars Community Organization exists to provide youth with mentorship, movement, and meaningful connection.
Many families in our area do not have access to club sports or expensive camps. Some kids feel isolated or unsure of where they fit in. At Jaguars, we remove those barriers. Our events are always free, inclusive, and built to bring people together.
This commitment gives every child a place to feel safe and valued. It gives families a trusted environment. It gives volunteers the chance to build relationships that change lives.
Our Core Purpose Is Simple and Powerful
At the center of everything we do are three key values: Mentorship, Movement, and Belonging.
We believe every child deserves more than entertainment. They deserve trusted role models, they deserve to stay active, and most of all, they deserve to feel like they matter.
Our team is entirely made up of volunteers. Every event, snack, and connection is made possible because people in this community choose to give their time and energy. We do not charge families to attend, require expensive gear, or require memberships. We show up and do the work because it matters.
This mission guides everything from how we plan our events to how we talk with parents and youth. We don’t just want to be a place where kids hang out. We want to be the reason they grow into confident, caring, and capable young leaders.
Highlights from the Night You Had to See to Believe
Some of our favorite memories from the night include:
- A nervous skater who was clinging to the wall at the start, confidently gliding by the end of the evening
- A volunteer giving a spontaneous skating lesson to three kids, using socks as demonstration tools
- A group of kids organizing their own mini race on the rink, complete with cheers and pretend medals
- A huge group selfie filled with goofy faces, peace signs, and nothing but joy
We captured dozens of photos and videos from the event and will be posting them on our social media. You can find them on Instagram at @jaguarscommunity. Be sure to tag yourself and share the love.
Upcoming Events That Will Take the Fun Even Further
If you missed this event, don’t worry. We’ve got two exciting opportunities coming up, and we want you to be part of them.
Dave & Buster’s Takeover
Get ready for an all-out arcade experience. There will be games, prizes, food, and lots of chances to meet new friends while letting loose in one of the most fun environments around.
WhirleyBall Showdown
This one is hard to describe but impossible to forget. WhirleyBall combines bumper cars with elements of basketball and lacrosse. It sounds wild because it is. And yes, it’s awesome.
Both events are free and open to all youth. We can help with transportation if needed, and we will make sure every participant feels safe, welcome, and included.
You Are Always Welcome Here
Whether you have joined us before or this is your first time hearing about Jaguars Community, we want you to know you are invited.
If you’re a parent looking for a place where your child will be celebrated, we are here.
If you’re a young person hoping to connect with others and have fun in a safe space, we are ready for you.

Here’s how you can get involved right now:

A Final Word from the Rink
Before leaving the event, one of the new attendees turned to their mom and said, “I hope we get to do this again next weekend.”
That’s the feeling we work hard to create. Our goal is not just to offer a fun time, but to create experiences that young people carry with them. We want them to remember what it felt like to be included, supported, and celebrated.
This is more than a program. It is a movement. It is a community of families, volunteers, and local leaders who believe that when youth are given a chance, they rise. When they are shown love, they give it back. And when they are surrounded by people who care, they grow stronger every day.
We are so grateful for everyone who came out to skate, laugh, and build memories with us. We can’t wait to do it again.
