Creating a Luxury Kitchen: The MacCoy Home Solutions Way
The MacCoy Home Solutions team did an incredible job on this massive kitchen remodel, leaving no detail overlooked! By removing the wall separating the original kitchen from the formal dining room, we doubled the space and created an extraordinary layout featuring dual islands.
This dream kitchen is packed with high-end finishes, including dual dishwashers, a Sub-Zero beverage fridge in one island, dual paneled Sub-Zero refrigerators hidden in the cabinetry, a 48″ range with a double oven, and even a microwave built into the cabinets. The bronze pulldown faucet and matching water dispenser bring a touch of elegance to the space.
Adding to the opulence are the dual Roxx crystal pendants above one island, a stunning glass opal chandelier over the other island, and a breathtaking calypso crystal chandelier above the dining table. Combined with brand-new picture windows that flood the room with natural light and hickory engineered hardwood floors that add warmth and character, this remodel is the definition of luxury!

Inside the Process: How We Transformed This Kitchen with Care & Craftsmanship
The kitchen remodel began with an on-site visit from our Sales Coordinator, Bill, who met with the homeowners to understand their goals and provide a tailored project estimate. Once the estimate was accepted, our Production Manager, Marcus, conducted a detailed walkthrough with the homeowners to review the project scope and gather initial information for production planning. The design and architecture phases were led by Maggie of Wake Design and Shannon of Design-Love, who collaborated closely with the homeowners to bring their vision to life. Following design development, the project moved into permitting through the city. Marcus then worked alongside the homeowners to finalize material selections and finish details before drafting a revised proposal based on the completed architectural drawings. Once approved, the project was officially scheduled for production. The MacCoy Home Solutions crew, in partnership with our trusted subcontractors, expertly constructed the space with attention to detail and quality craftsmanship under the guidance of our Superintendent, Kyle. The process concluded with a final walkthrough to ensure every element met our high standards—and now, the homeowners are enjoying a luxurious, beautifully finished kitchen tailored to their lifestyle.
Adapting with Precision: How We Tackle the Unexpected
Every remodel presents its own unique set of challenges, and this project was no exception. The layout of the home featured exterior walls that were not aligned, which required our team to develop creative design and construction solutions to ensure a seamless and functional kitchen space. One of the key design challenges involved balancing the need for ample natural light with the homeowners’ desire for sufficient storage. By incorporating a thoughtful blend of layered lighting and adding upper windows within the vaulted ceiling, we achieved a bright, open feel without compromising storage. Additionally, during the preconstruction phase, our team identified a significant structural discrepancy: the existing floor joists did not align with the assumed architectural plans. After carefully opening select areas, we confirmed the original drawings were inaccurate. Thanks to our experienced team, this was discovered early in the process, allowing us to rework the plans in a timely manner and move forward into production without delay. The result is a beautifully executed space that is both structurally sound and visually stunning.

From Start to Finish: The Timeline That Brought It All Together
The kitchen remodel began when the clients reached out to MacCoy Home Solutions for an initial estimate in July 2023 and chose to move forward with our team by signing the estimate in September 2023. That same month, they began working with our Production Manager to initiate the production planning phase. Architectural work commenced in November, followed by design development and permit approvals in January 2024. By April 2024, all selections, materials, architectural plans, and design details were finalized, and the updated proposal was approved. Construction began later that month and was successfully completed 20 weeks later, resulting in a beautifully customized and thoughtfully crafted kitchen.
Reflecting on a Remarkable Remodel
This project is a testament to the power of thoughtful planning and a knowledgeable team. Through detailed pre-construction efforts, we were able to identify and confirm critical structural elements early—preventing any delays or design compromises. This diligence allowed us to deliver a highly customized space that met our clients’ goals while staying on track and within scope. Here’s what our clients had to share:
“In short, Aaron MacCoy and his team are consummate professionals. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and I hope this review reveals why.
We hired MacCoy Home Solutions to perform an extensive kitchen expansion and remodel in our Edmonds home. Our vision did not align easily with our existing structure: The job required removal of walls, including a large load-bearing wall, complex relocation of plumbing and electrical, and installation of new windows, siding, cabinets, flooring, two islands, and appliances.
Aaron and his team were highly organized, patient, and understanding throughout the process. The project started with Aaron’s designer, Shannon, and his project leader, Marcus. They were rock stars. They worked with us to develop several excellent design options. Shannon’s CAD drawings effectively transformed the old kitchen into the new one before any demo, and she made the finished product a reality early on.
From there, Kyle took over the day-to-day. My wife and I were consistently impressed with all the MacCoy employees and subs. Everyone was on time, detail-oriented, responsive, and hard-working. They were also unfailingly polite and professional with our family, as we lived upstairs during the work. Maybe most impressive was their communication throughout – both with us and with each other. The project was a well-coordinated team effort.
The results are truly outstanding. The quality, the fit-and-finish, the attention to detail – the results exceed our already-high expectations. I told Aaron at the outset that our goal for the project was a ‘forever’ house. The MacCoy team gave us that house.
Thank you, MacCoy Home Solutions!”
