Project Spotlight: Master Bathroom Transformation

This master bath remodel was part of a full home transformation courtesy of the talents of the MacCoy Home Solutions crew! Completely relocated and reimagined, this dark, moody master bath is a spa-like retreat for our clients, packed with luxurious features! Walking in, you’re greeted by a rich wood dual vanity, complete with under-mounted sinks, matte black wall-mounted industrial faucets, and a striking steel gray brushed granite countertop. The space is beautifully framed by 30” LED light bars anchoring recessed medicine cabinet mirrors, adding function and style.

Turning the corner, you’ll find a gorgeous shower room featuring a matte black freestanding tub with a contemporary floor-mounted tub filler, set against a wood slat accent wall that perfectly ties in with the vanity. The dual retrofit thermostatic shower systems, complete with a custom LED-lit shower niche, make this space as functional as it is beautiful. The black beveled ceramic subway tile surround wraps the shower room, contrasting elegantly with the matte porcelain penny tile shower floor. A frameless sliding glass shower door completes the space, seamlessly separating the shower area from the rest of the bathroom.

And let’s not forget the details—porcelain hex tile flooring with a state-of-the-art in-floor heating system, plus a separate water closet featuring antique mushroom wallpaper for a pop of character. Topping it all off? A luxurious auto-open, auto-flush toilet with a built-in bidet for next-level comfort.

This ensuite is a showstopper, blending bold design, industrial touches, and modern elegance.

Creating a Breathtaking Ensuite: Our Proven Process in Action

As part of a comprehensive home remodel, the master bathroom renovation began with an on-site visit from our Production Manager, Marcus, who met with the homeowners to discuss their vision and provide an initial estimate. Once the estimate was accepted, Marcus conducted a detailed walkthrough to gather initial production details and ensure a clear understanding of the project scope. The homeowners then began working with Maggie of Wake Design to initiate the architectural planning process. In consideration of the clients’ decision to remain in the home during construction, Marcus developed a two-phase production schedule. Phase one focused on setting basement-level beams and structural framework to establish a comfortable and safe living space for the homeowners throughout the duration of the remodel. With that foundation in place, Marcus created a fully detailed phase two proposal that incorporated all design selections and materials needed for production. A customized production timeline was then established to align with the homeowners’ preferences. From there, Marcus and Superintendent, Kyle, worked together to coordinate trusted subcontractors, manage material procurement, and oversee the entire build process—ensuring regular communication and client check-ins every step of the way to guarantee quality, accuracy, and peace of mind.

Solutions in Motion: Responding to Project Challenges

The master bathroom renovation, part of a larger full home remodel, presented several complex challenges that required proactive planning and on-the-ground adaptability. One of the primary obstacles involved the removal of the upper floor while protecting the finished lower level, which remained exposed for an extended period. To mitigate weather-related risks, our team strategically began production during the summer months and constructed temporary protective walls to divert water intrusion. We also monitored the forecast closely, adjusting our daily plans to safeguard the space as conditions changed. Another key challenge arose when design specifications evolved after construction had already begun. These adjustments required immediate coordination and clarity to ensure accuracy and maintain project momentum. Through consistent communication and ongoing collaboration with the homeowners, our team was able to quickly realign expectations, confirm selections, and implement each change with precision—allowing us to deliver a seamless, high-quality result despite the shifting scope.

Structured Planning, Seamless Execution

The bathroom renovation, completed as part of a full home remodel, began when the homeowners chose to move forward with MacCoy Home Solutions and signed an estimate in December 2022, simultaneously beginning the architectural design process with Maggie of Wake Design. Initial production planning commenced in February 2023, leading into phase one of construction, which was executed in March and completed in April 2023. Following the approval of phase two in July 2023, construction was strategically scheduled to begin in June 2024 to align with seasonal weather conditions. The project reached full completion in May 2025, delivering a beautifully customized and thoughtfully executed master bathroom and home renovation.
